Addressing the gathering, the Principal, Mrs. Kanika Sachdeva Govi, urged students to value the privileges that independence has given them and to shoulder the responsibility of safeguarding it. She reminded them that freedom is both a gift and a duty, one that must never be taken for granted.

For the Infant Sunshine Wing, the day was filled with hands-on exploration. Health and wellness took centre stage through a Dental Check-up and a refreshing Yoga session. Students shared a cheerful Healthy Food Party, promoting mindful eating, while Water Awareness Activities highlighted the importance of conservation. Creativity flourished through Paper Craft, Clay Moulding and Matka Decoration. Science came alive with Magnet Magic and engaging experiments using ink, light and mirrors. The Senior School (Classes VI–XII) celebrated the occasion with a wide range of thematic activities. For the Middle School (Classes VI–VIII), the celebrations were designed to connect students with India’s democratic values, environmental stewardship, experiential learning and reformist spirit. Class VI conducted a Mock Panchayat, where each section represented a state and deliberated on pressing local issues such as water scarcity in Maharashtra, education in Karnataka, agriculture in Sikkim, unemployment in Chhattisgarh and health and sanitation in Uttar Pradesh. The exercise familiarised students with the Panchayati Raj system and underscored the importance of collective problem-solving in a democracy through authentic role play and practice. The activity inspired students to appreciate the courage of those who challenged injustice and paved the way for a more equitable and empowered society.
