Scholar Badge and Award Ceremony 2024–25 (Classes X to XII)

A Celebration of Academic Excellence and Resilience

Delhi Public School Rohini organized the Scholar Badge and Award Ceremony on Friday, 18 July 2025 on the theme, ‘Dreams don’t work unless you do’, to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of students from classes X to XII for the academic year 2024-25.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolising wisdom and the pursuit of knowledge. The Chief Guest, Shri Jai Prakash Chaturvedi, Director (Affiliation), CBSE, was warmly welcomed by the Principal, Ms. Kanika Sachdeva Govi, on the momentous occasion that also marked 30 years of the school’s excellence.

A soulful musical presentation, ‘Jaago, ki Bela Nav Srijan Ki Aayi’, stirred the audience with its message of awakening and transformation. This was followed by a captivating dance performance on the teachings of Sant Kabir, bringing alive the values of self-discipline, inner awakening, and purposeful living.

While addressing the audience, the Principal encouraged students to embrace diverse learning and resist the lure of shortcuts, reminding everyone that, “No AI can chart your destiny—only human effort and connection can.” She congratulated the school community on its 30-year milestone and invited the Chief Guest to unveil the school magazine, The QR Code – Stories of Strength and Resilience. Renamed to mark its evolution into the school’s first digital-first edition, The QR Code reflects the school’s inclusive and forward-looking vision, transforming reading into an interactive experience.

The programme also focused on student wellness and safety. A segment titled ‘Ek Yudh Nashe Ke Virudh’ featured anti-vaping awareness jingles by the Prahari and Sanjeevani Clubs, previously presented at the Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute. The strong message that ‘vaping is neither safe nor stylish’ resonated deeply with the audience.

A powerful demonstration followed, showcasing highlights from the Kavach Self-Defence Workshop. Through real-life simulations, students displayed key safety techniques—instilling confidence and reinforcing the importance of self-awareness.

The heart of the ceremony lay in acknowledging the hard work and academic brilliance of the scholar badge recipients. These students, who exemplified determination and a quest for excellence, were recognised for their achievements.

In addition to the academic honours, a group of Class IX students were recognised for qualifying the prestigious Mukhyamantri Vigyan Pratibha Pariksha (MVPP)—a highly competitive examination that identifies exceptional scientific aptitude and academic promise.

A special mention was made of Rivansh Arora, a Class XII Humanities student, who appeared for the CBSE Board examinations despite living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. With the support of the Principal Ms. Govi, who advocated for inclusive provisions, CBSE permitted him to take the practicals online. Rivansh’s mother expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Principal for her empathy and constant encouragement.

While addressing the gathering, Mr. Chaturvedi congratulated the students and commended the school’s remarkable progress. He hailed DPS Rohini as the top institution in North Delhi and among the top three in NCR, applauding the school Principal's visionary leadership and the faculty's dedication. Citing examples from the Ramayana and Mahabharata, he emphasised the timeless role of teachers as mentors and torchbearers of wisdom.

The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem performed in sign language—a powerful gesture reaffirming the school’s commitment to inclusivity, empathy, and shared national values.
