Delhi Public School, Rohini proudly hosted ‘Vicharvithi’ : Inter DPS Hindi Debate 2025 (National Level) on Saturday, 02 August 2025. This prestigious event brought together young minds from across the country to engage in meaningful dialogue, critical thought and spirited debate in the eloquent and expressive medium of Hindi. The debate was conducted in two distinct categories-
- ‘Abhivyakti Ki Udaan' for Classes VI-VIII and ‘Meemansa’ and ‘Matantar' for Classes IX-XII.
The competition was a celebration of conviction, clarity and cultural pride.
DPS Rohini Hosts Vicharvithi: Inter-DPS Hindi Debate 2025 (National Level) Delhi Public School, Rohini, hosted Vicharvithi: Inter-DPS Hindi Debate 2025 (National Level) on Saturday, 02 August 2025. The event brought together students from 125 Delhi Public Schools across India to engage in critical thinking, meaningful expression and spirited debate.
The competition was held in two distinct categories - ‘Abhivyakti Ki Udaan’ for Classes VI–VIII and ‘Meemansa’ for Classes IX–XII. After a comprehensive online screening process, 42 teams were shortlisted for the final round and invited to present their arguments on this platform.
The Valedictory Ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp symbolising light as the harbinger of knowledge and wisdom. The school Principal, Mrs. Kanika Sachdeva Govi felicitated the Honourable Guests, Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations CBSE, MHRD, Govt. of India and Shri. P. K. Tripathi, Member Managing Committee, Delhi Public School Rohini and former Chief Secretary Delhi, with four decades of experience in education, administration and policy-making.
The Principal, Mrs. Kanika Sachdeva Govi, in her address, spoke about the importance of greeting others with warmth and a smile, sharing a thought-provoking story to illustrate communication as a vital life skill. She emphasized that dialogue should be meaningful, collaborative and rooted in language that bridges human connections, linking its essence to the spirit of debate.
A video montage showcased the key highlights and unforgettable moments from the day, offering a vivid glimpse into the passion, preparation and poise that defined every aspect of the event. One of the major highlights of the programme was the cultural performance - ‘हिंदी भाषा की यात्रा – उद्भव से उत्कर्ष तक’ - A theatrical tribute to the journey of the Hindi language.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sanyam remarked that a school is a true temple of learning, nurturing values like camaraderie, empathy and respect to shape good human beings. Citing the example of Lord Rama, he emphasized the importance of lifelong learning that shaped his journey from ‘Ram’ to ‘Purushottam Ram’ only through the lessons he learned during his exile. He also commended the Principal, for her inspiring words and applauded DPS Rohini as one of the most reputed institutions. Recognizing the institution's excellence, he conferred an ‘A’ grade upon the school for its unwavering dedication in shaping young minds.
The Honourable Guest, Shri. P.K. Tripathi, in his speech, highlighted that education is ever- expanding, shaping not just knowledge but also character and personality. He encouraged everyone to keep learning with an open mind and heart.
The winners were awarded for their exceptional oratory skills and intellectual rigour. In a special moment of recognition, a faculty member of the school (Ms. Shalu Gupta, PRT) was awarded for 100% attendance over 27 consecutive years of dedicated service.
Among the most engaging segments of the day was the interactive session with Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, CBSE Controller of Examinations, where students and parents found an open platform to voice their concerns and gain valuable insights related to CBSE exams.
The ceremony concluded with gratitude extended to all participating schools, the organising team and the dignitaries who graced the occasion. The rendition of the National Anthem in sign language served as a poignant tribute to the values of inclusivity, unity and shared national pride.
