RHYTHM AND RHYME- English Recitation Competition (Nursery)

The tiny tots of Nursery participated in ‘Rhythm and Rhyme’, an intra-section English Recitation Competition held on Wednesday, 29 October 2025. The young enthusiasts recited poems on the theme ‘Animals’ with perfect rhythm and delightful expression. The event helped enhance their confidence, pronunciation, and speaking skills.

NANHE KATHAKAAR: Hindi Story Narration Competition (PREP)

The young learners of Class Prep participated in ‘Nanhe Kathakaar’, an intra-section Hindi Story Narration Competition held on Tuesday, 28 October 2025. The enthusiastic students brought to life classic tales from The Panchatantra and Jataka through expressive narration and the use of creative props. The students of Class I participated in ‘Nanhe Kathakaar’, an intra-section Hindi Story Narration Competition held on Monday, 3 November 2025, with great enthusiasm. SPELL BEE – ENGLISH QUIZ

The students of Class II participated in an engaging English Quiz held on Friday, 7 November 2025. The quiz comprised various rounds based on topics such as Verbs, Articles, Spell Check, Antonyms & Synonyms, and Rhyming Words, designed to assess and enhance the students’ language proficiency. Five teams enthusiastically competed with one another, displaying excellent presence of mind and strong linguistic skills in every round. The competition provided a wonderful platform for students to showcase their knowledge, confidence, and quick-thinking abilities. It also helped promote teamwork and a love for the English language.

OZONE DAY- ENVIRONMENT ACTIVITY

"Healthy Ozone, Healthy Earth!"

The students of the Infant Sunshine Wing of Delhi Public School, Rohini participated in a discussion on the importance of the Ozone Layer and measures to protect it. This was followed by a demonstration activity—an Ozone Layer science experiment—through which the students learned about the protective layer surrounding the Earth and its critical role. The session highlighted the significance of preserving the Ozone Layer for environmental balance. The children actively engaged in the activities and participated with enthusiasm and keen interest.

SPACE EXPLORERS' SESSION

“The more you look closely, the more wonders you discover.”

The students of Classes I & II participated in the Space Explorers’ Session titled “Window to the Universe” on 27th August 2025. The session focused on enhancing students’ knowledge of the Solar System. It introduced them to the fascinating world of the universe through engaging activities based on their understanding of the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars that they see in the sky. They identified the Sun and the Moon as their closest neighbours, each with unique features. The children were amazed to learn about the movement of the Earth and the Moon in relation to each other and the Sun. To extend their learning beyond the classroom, each child received a take-home kit consisting of a DIY Universe Craft— a fun activity that helped them recognize the physical appearance and unique properties of celestial bodies. The session was both educational and enjoyable, sparking curiosity and encouraging young learners to look deeper into the mysteries of science

RAIN WATER HARVESTING – ENVIRONMENT ACTIVITY

"Rainwater: Nature’s Gift, Our Responsibility!"

The students of the Infant Sunshine Wing of Delhi Public School, Rohini participated in a discussion on rainwater harvesting. They learned that rainwater harvesting involves the collection and storage of rainwater, which is redirected to the ground to replenish groundwater. The benefits of such a system were also explained. Following the discussion, students took part in hands-on activities by collecting rainwater in inverted umbrellas and buckets, carefully placed in strategic locations by their teacher. They observed how the rainwater was effectively gathered, helping them understand the process of capturing and storing water. Additionally, Class II students presented a model of a rainwater harvesting unit and discussed the potential uses of the collected water and the importance of conserving it.

CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS - Paper Folding Competition (Class I)

The budding artists of Class I participated in ‘Creative Expression’, a Paper Folding Competition (using origami-sized newspaper), held on Friday, 25th July 2025. The young participants displayed spontaneity and enthusiasm as they crafted beautiful creations, showcasing their aesthetic talent. The use of newspaper in the activity was a conscious effort to raise awareness about reuse and encourage children to contribute to sustainability in their own small way. The imagination and creativity displayed by the little ones truly captivated everyone.

The tiny tots of Class Nursery participated in ‘Creative Expression’, a Colouring Competition held on Monday, 21st July 2025. The little learners took part with great excitement and enthusiasm. The event aimed to encourage creativity, develop fine motor skills, and promote self- expression. Children were provided with fun, age-appropriate colouring sheets and a variety of colours to bring their imaginations to life. It was heartwarming to see their tiny hands joyfully and attentively filling each picture with vibrant hues.

Astronomy Showcase – A learning Display

Through the stars, we not only explore the universe but also ignite the curiosity and imagination of young minds, paving the way for tomorrow’s scientists.
The Astronomy Club hosted the ‘Astronomy Showcase – A Learning Display’ for students of classes I and II at DPS-Rohini Main School on Saturday, 8 March 2025. The event showcased the students’ learning from astronomy workshops held during the academic year. Ms. Srishti, a representative of the Astronomy team, highlighted the hands-on activities that allowed children to learn about space without textbooks. She emphasized how these sessions fostered curiosity and critical thinking.
Parents enjoyed watching their children present astronomical exhibits and explain scientific concepts. The event included activities like rocket launches, using telescopes, solving puzzles, and weighing machines that displayed weights on the Moon, Mercury, and Jupiter. The outdoor rocket launch in the school’s spacious lawns was a major highlight, adding to the day’s excitement and making it a memorable astronomy experience for both parents and children.

WHAT IS WORLD MADE UP OF? - ACADEMIC ACTIVITY

A science experiment showcase was held in the Infant Sunshine Wing at Delhi Public School, Rohini to help students understand the three states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases. Through interactive experiments, students observed how solids have a fixed shape, liquids take the shape of their container, and gases spread everywhere. Experiments included mixing baking soda and vinegar to inflate a balloon with carbon dioxide and showing how a candle extinguishes when covered with a beaker due to a lack of oxygen. These activities helped students learn about states of matter in a fun and engaging way.

The students of Class II embarked on a tour of the main school on Wednesday, 5 March 2025. The visit was a memorable and enriching experience, successfully combining learning with enjoyment. Students engaged in fun games and explored various facilities, including the chemistry lab, art room, and Class III classrooms. A walk through the school garden allowed students to connect with nature and learn about different types of plants, including flowering plants, fruit-bearing trees, and seasonal shrubs. The walk concluded with a discussion on how they can contribute to making their school a greener and healthier place.

‘Handle with Care: Plastics Shouldn’t Be Everywhere!’- Environment Activity

“It’s time to say no to plastics!”
Public School, Rohini (Nursery-II), were excited to participate in the environmental activity titled ‘Handle with Care: Plastics Shouldn’t Be Everywhere!’ The children engaged in various activities, such as watching videos about plastic pollution and its harmful effects, as well as learning about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling. As part of the hands-on activity, the students decorated used paper bags and wrote the slogan ‘Say No to Plastics’ to raise awareness about the dangers of pollution. The children thoroughly enjoyed the activities and participated with enthusiasm and energy. They also learned valuable lessons about taking care of the environment.

THE THING I LIKE THE MOST- ENGLISH SHOW AND TELL COMPETITION - PREP

The students of Class Prep participated in an English Show and Tell competition on Thursday, 13 February 2025. The topic of the competition was interestingly chosen as “The Thing I Like the Most.” The kids loved elaborating on their favourite things, which ranged from a simple dish to their favourite cartoon character.

THE THING I LIKE THE MOST- ENGLISH SHOW AND TELL COMPETITION (NURSERY)

"When children learn to speak with confidence, they’re not just learning words; they’re learning how to navigate the world around them."
The students of Class Nursery participated in English Show and Tell Competition on “The Thing I Like The Most” on 11th February 2025. Each child had the opportunity to present an object of their choice, speaking about it in front of their classmates and teachers. The competition helped in building their vocabulary, public speaking skills, and boosted their self-confidence. SPACE EXPLORERS’ SESSION – ZOOM IN

The students of Class I & II participated in the Space Explorer’s session titled ‘Zoom In’ on 25th January 2025, which focused on magnification and zooming in. The session introduced students to magnifying tools like the magnifying glass, microscope, and telescope, explaining their uses and how they work. The students took part in interactive activities, including categorizing object cutouts into groups for microscopes, cameras, and telescopes. They also engaged in hands-on exercises using magnifying glasses, microscopes, and telescopes to explore objects in detail. Each student received a take-home kit with a handout and a magnifying glass. The session was both engaging and educational, sparking curiosity about magnification and the tools used to explore the world around us.
