A special assembly was organized on Thursday, 24 October 2024, which beautifully blended the celebration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Diwali.
The event began with an insightful thought followed by a captivating dance drama emphasizing the idea of unity as a powerful weapon to eradicate societal evils and fostering peace in the world.
Adding to the celebration, students sang melodious songs to commemorate Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and honour Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the epitome of unity, also known as the ‘Iron Man of India’ and India’s first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.
The assembly concluded with a mesmerizing demonstration of rhythmic yoga, dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi on the auspicious occasion of Diwali wherein, students performed 15 yoga postures, symbolizing balance and harmony of the body, mind and soul.
The event was a perfect amalgamation of patriotism and spirituality, leaving everyone inspired and enriched.

The Senior School Cabinet presented a special assembly on 3 September 2024 to celebrate Teachers’ Day. The assembly commenced with the Lighting of the Lamp by the Principal and the Vice Principal and welcoming all the teachers with the application of traditional tika by the Junior School Cabinet. The program began with the Guru Vandana followed by a soulful musical medley of songs along with group dance performances that highlighted the theme of the assembly. An entertaining quiz was conducted specially for the teachers which was thoroughly enjoyed by them. The assembly concluded with the special DPS ROHINI school song. The Principal Ms. Kanika S. Govi appreciated the assembly and motivated everyone with her inspiring words.
Special gifts were given to all the teachers along with a heartfelt note by the students as a token of their gratitude and appreciation. The classroom LED smart boards welcomed teachers with a video of children singing songs paying tribute to the teachers. Celebrations were also held at the Infant School, where the cabinet performed special quiz as well as a dance performance for the little ones and the teachers.

A special assembly on the theme, “Interpreting Independence: Gratitude to the Nation” was organised by Delhi Public School, Rohini, on Wednesday, 14 August 2024, to celebrate India’s 78 th Independence Day. The assembly presented by the students of Classes IV, V, IX, and X, was an amalgamation of culture, values and patriotism. The aim was to instill in students a sense of pride and gratitude for the freedom they enjoy.
The event commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the Principal and guests. It symbolized the dispelling of darkness and the spreading of knowledge and wisdom. This was followed by a soulful prayer song, which set a serene and respectful tone for the assembly.
The "Thought for the Day" focused on the importance of gratitude towards the nation and the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. Emphasis was placed on how freedom is a precious gift and a must for everyone to contribute positively to the nation’s growth.
A beautiful medley of patriotic songs was presented by the school choir. The stirring rendition filled the atmosphere with a deep sense of pride and love for the country, as students sang in unison, reflecting their respect and devotion. One of the highlights of the assembly was a thought-provoking role play, “Kal, Aaj aur Kal: Bharat Meri Nazar Se,” presented by the students of Class IV. The journey of India from the pre-independence era to the modern day and the hope for a future where the country reaches new heights was depicted by the students. Through their powerful performances, the struggles of freedom fighters, progress achieved over the decades, and aspirations for the future were portrayed, leaving everyone inspired.
A vibrant and impactful Nukkad Natak on the theme “Say No to Tobacco” was performed by the students of Classes IX and X. A strong social message was conveyed about the ill effects of tobacco consumption, emphasising freedom from unhealthy habits for a prosperous nation. The energetic dialogues and creative presentation struck a chord with the audience, motivating them to take a stand for a healthier lifestyle.
The pledge kept with the theme of patriotism and responsibility, encouraging students to uphold the values of freedom and contribute positively to the nation’s development.
The dance performance, “From Shores to Space: The Journey of Dr. Kalam” enlightened the students about the inspirational life of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. From his humble beginnings to becoming the “Missile Man” and later the President of India, his life’s journey was depicted by students through graceful movements and expressive choreography. His vision, dedication and contribution to making India a global power in space and technology were celebrated.
The Principal, Mrs. Kanika S. Govi, addressed the gathering, expressing pride in the students’ performances and emphasising the importance of reflecting on the freedom that is often taken for granted. The address focused on the need for students to develop a sense of gratitude towards the nation and contribute meaningfully to its future.
The assembly concluded on a unique and heartwarming note with the school song followed by the national anthem presented in sign language. It was a fitting tribute to the spirit of inclusivity, with the entire school standing in respectful silence.
The Independence Day assembly was a memorable celebration in which the nation’s rich heritage was honoured while values of patriotism, gratitude and responsibility were instilled among students. A lasting impression was left on everyone present, making it a day to remember.

Students of Class X and Class V-B presented a special assembly on the occasion of Earth Day on Thursday, 18 April 2024. The assembly commenced with watering of the holy Tulsi Plant by Principal Ma’am followed by chanting of Vedic Mantras to instil a sense of mindfulness towards the well-being of Mother Earth. An insightful thought was presented on the befitting theme. A special talk show, to explore sustainability of great minds to safeguard our planet Earth was also presented. All the students took a pledge to do their part in safeguarding the planet. The assembly witnessed a thought provoking poem followed by a song appreciating the natural beauty around us. The captivating dance performance left the audience spellbound. The assembly concluded with engaging news updates and an exciting quiz on the theme of the assembly. The assembly proved fruitful in motivating the students and inculcating a sense of sensitivity towards nature and environment among them.

The vibrant grounds of Delhi Public School Rohini resonated with pride and gratitude as the school came together for a Special Assembly dedicated to Independence Day. The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Dr. Narayan Dutt Mishra, Chief Editor of Vaartavali, DD News and Mr. A.K. Sharma, ADO, Delhi Fire Service. As the day progressed, the event was further honoured by the presence of Dr. Guriqbal Singh Sidhu, IPS, DCP of Rohini and Mr. Arun Kumar Chauhan – ACP.
The cultural mosaic unfolded with the melodious strains of & Vividh Taan: A Symphony of Patriotic Songs,' presented by the school choir. These melodies encapsulated the spirit of the nation, celebrating unity in diversity. Dance, as an expression of joy and identity, took centre stage with 'Vande Bharatam- Tribute to our Motherland: A Dance Presentation.' The fusion of Bharatnatyam and contemporary styles weaved a visual narrative of unity and reverence for the nation. Dr. Narayan Dutt Mishra, our esteemed special guest, eloquently discussed Independence Day's contemporary relevance, underscoring unity and progress. His insights extended to the significance of ‘Vatravali in Sanskrit’ and the celebration of ‘Vibhajan Diwas,’ deepening cultural understanding and heritage appreciation, enhancing our bond with India rich traditions. The impactful 'Street Play shed light on 'Social Media and Mental Health,' prompting introspection on responsible usage of digital platforms.
Ms. Kanika Sachdeva Govi, the School Principal, radiated wisdom and inspiration through her address, leaving a profound impact on the audience. Her focus on gratitude extended to acknowledging the efforts of the support staff and fostering a sense of environmental consciousness. The discourse highlighted reading transformative impact and unveiled DPSR's key themes for the 2023-24 session—reading, environment, inclusivity and gratitude. The launch of the ‘Library Corner’ on the school portal, guidance for responsible internet usage, and the announcement of the ‘Mobile Book Exhibition’ by NBT exemplified the seamless integration of education and technology within the school's ethos.
Aniket Aggarwal, an illustrious alumnus and representative of the Indian Contingent at the 22nd ITF Taekwondo World Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan, shared his journey of dedication and relentless effort. He acknowledged DPS Rohini's pivotal role in shaping his path to success. Principal, Ms. Kanika Sachdeva Govi, beamed with pride as she announced a monumental triumph – the DPS Rohini school flag will grace the 22nd ITF Taekwondo World Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan, fluttering alongside the Indian flag. He will also sport the school logo on his jersey. This remarkable achievement encapsulates a journey that originated within our esteemed institution and has now elevated to the global arena, epitomizing the pinnacle of excellence attainable by our students. Mukul Dahiya, an aspiring army officer and DPS Rohini alumnus, reaffirmed the significance of savouring the journey, expressing gratitude towards school, teachers and honouring parents. The poignant 'Sounds of Silence: National Anthem in Sign Language' brought the assembly to a close, symbolizing unity beyond words.

Harmonizing Gratitude: Celebrating 28 Years of DPS Rohini's Foundation Day DPS Rohini celebrated its 29th Foundation Day with a heartfelt embrace of ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ as the central theme. The event highlighted the school's journey since its establishment in 1995 and emphasized the importance of expressing gratitude.
The day commenced with a heartfelt prayer, ‘Har Taraf Har Jagah’ and a captivating performance by the school choir. Students presented a mesmerizing dance performance titled ‘Embracing Abundance’, beautifully portraying the core values that define the essence of the school. A choral recitation titled ‘Echoes of Gratitude’ touched the hearts of the audience, expressing deep appreciation for the school's support and nurturing environment.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Mr. Rahul Girdhar, the first student of DPS Rohini, graciously shared his experiences, invoking a sense of nostalgia and gratitude among the audience. Equally captivating was Aniket Aggarwal, an accomplished alumnus in the realm of Taekwondo, who enthralled everyone with his extraordinary journey, becoming a source of inspiration for all.
The celebration also spotlighted the exceptional achievements of DPS Rohini students in the highly competitive NEET and JEE Advanced Exams. The remarkable accomplishments of these dedicated individuals were applauded, and the toppers were duly recognized for their outstanding success. Adding to the inspiration, Ms Mihika Chawla shared valuable tips on behalf of the group on how to excel in these competitive exams, offering insights and guidance to aspiring students.
The event concluded with the prize distribution for students excelling in KAMP NASTA exam. During the Principal's address, gratitude took center stage as each member of the school was personally thanked and acknowledged. The Principal expressed heartfelt appreciation to the teachers from various departments and the gardeners, helpers, as well as other staff members. Their valuable contributions and dedication were recognized, underscoring the spirit of unity and collaboration that defines DPS Rohini.
The Foundation Day celebration at DPS Rohini showcased the power of gratitude and the collective efforts that have shaped the school's journey. Congratulations were extended to all participants, alumni, teachers, and the entire DPS Rohini community for their dedication and commitment to fostering an environment of gratitude and excellence.

Earth Day is celebrated on the 22 April every year, to mark the birth anniversary of the modern environmental movement that began in 1970. This year the theme for Earth Day is ‘Invest in our Planet’ given by EarthDay.Org, the global organizer of earth day.
A special assembly was presented by students of X. It began with the choir singing a melodious shloka on the importance of Mother Earth. This was followed by an inspiring thought for the day, a dance recital and a Nukkad Natak to spread the message of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle to save the planet Earth. The street play concluded by asking all students and teachers present there to collectively pledge to save our planet. The assembly concluded with a fun-filled quiz. The purpose of the assembly was to once again remind all the students to be 'Environment Conscious Citizens'. The efforts of the students were much appreciated by the Principal Ms. Kanika S Govi.
