The 2nd edition of India’s first-of-its-kind inclusive festival that celebrates persons with disabilities, a world of boundless possibilities, where unity takes center stage, and diversity is celebrated with open arms was organised by the Office of the State Commissioner of Persons with Disabilities, Government of Goa, Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa and Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Mrs. Kanika Sachdeva Govi, Principal, DPS Rohini, chaired two sessions at the International Purple Festival held at Goa on the topics ‘School Environment and different models of inclusion’ and ‘Sexuality and Personal Safety’. She also gave away the awards along with the jury to the winning entries of this year’s Purple International ‘We Care Film Festival on disability issues’ . The film festival has as its founding partners –UN Information Centre for India and Bhutan, UNESCO, Brotherhood and Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication. In its 19th edition, the film festival has been held in 199 venues including India, UAE, Mauritius, Singapore, Iran and France.
