DR. KALAM'S MIGHTY MINDS INNOVATION PROGRAM 2024

Dr. Kalam's Mighty Minds Innovation Program 2024, was organized by Mighty Me, a prestigious initiative aimed at fostering innovation and intellectual growth among young students across India. The objective of this program is to identify and nurture talented students through a comprehensive assessment process that includes brain teasers, general knowledge quizzes, subject-specific evaluations and innovation-based challenges.

ART TO CONNECT 2.0 (ONLINE SUBMISSION)

DPS Rohini has always been committed to fostering inclusion and promoting a sense of belonging among all students. As part of this commitment, our students recently participated in an online event, Art to Connect 2.0, which aimed to bring together students with and without special needs. This unique initiative was designed to cultivate empathy, creativity, and mutual respect among participants.
The event featured specially-abled children showcasing their talents in painting, singing and dancing. It offered an incredible platform for artistic expression while fostering understanding and compassion—values that lie at the heart of education. Our school collaborated with Upasana Special School for this event, further strengthening the spirit of inclusion.
A total of 16 students participated in Art to Connect 2.0, including 12 students from DPS Rohini and 4 students from Upasana Special School. Eight non-CWSN students from DPS Rohini were paired with 8 CWSN participants from both the schools. The students worked together to prepare one-minute interaction video and practice videos and final performance videos. This collaborative process encouraged meaningful interactions and enhanced the learning experience of all participants.
Students without special needs were also tasked with writing a 600-word reflection on their experience, allowing them to articulate their learnings and insights from the event. Their reflections highlighted the joy, inspiration, and newfound perspectives gained from working alongside their peers with special needs.
Art to Connect 2.0 proved to be an enriching experience for everyone involved, reinforcing the importance of inclusion and creativity in education.

Delhi Public School Society organized Swaragini, a National Inter-DPS Hindustani Music Festival - Folk Group Song Competition at DPS Knowledge Park-V, Greater Noida.

DPS Rohini consistently encourages the inclusion of children with special needs into the mainstream, fostering an environment of unity and support. In line with this commitment, five of our students, three from the Infant School and two from the Middle School, participated in Udaan - II, an interschool event exclusively for children with special needs. A simulation of two committees of the UNITED NATIONS was organized for students of classes IX-XII on 13 and 14 August. The two committees simulated were UNITED NATIONS COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN, with the agenda ‘Combating intolerance and discrimination against women on the basis of religious beliefs’ for classes IX - X and ALL INDIA POLITICAL PARTY MEET with the agenda ‘Deliberating on centre-state relations with special emphasis on the liquor policy for classes XI - XII.
This innovative competition provided students with the opportunity to use their creativity, originality and cognitive thinking skills. They were judged on their portfolio representation, speaking skills and lobbying skills.

INTER-DPS QUIZ 2024

Under the esteemed guidance of The DPS Society, Delhi Public School, Rohini, hosted the Inter-DPS Virtual Quiz 2024, Zone 6 on 10 August 2024. The event was thoughtfully designed to enrich participants' knowledge, stimulate creative thinking and enhance interpersonal skills through engaging competition and collaborative learning. The Junior Category explored the theme ‘Water Bodies of India,’ while the Senior Category delved into ‘Dance, Music, and Arts of India,’ setting the stage for an intellectually stimulating online competition..
The event commenced with a warm welcome to Shri B.K Chaturvedi, Chairman, DPS Society, Shri V.K Shunglu, Vice Chairman, DPS Society and Ms. Dolly Chanana, Joint Director, DPS Society for their guidance and relentless support. The quiz was conducted by Mr. Aditya Nath Mubayi from Quizcraft Global Knowledge Solutions. A total of 31 schools participated in the Junior Category and 27 schools in the Senior Category, making this a vibrant and engaging event.
The traditional Saraswati Vandana marked the beginning of the event, followed by an inspiring welcome address by the school Principal, Mrs. Kanika Sachdeva Govi. Her words set an uplifting tone for the challenging competition that lay ahead.
The final rounds culminated with six teams from each category making it through the prelims. For the Junior Category, the six qualifying teams were:

The culmination of the event brought forth the highly anticipated final rounds for both categories. Six teams in each category demonstrated their prowess, making it a captivating experience for the audience. The event showcased a display of knowledge and seamless teamwork among the finalists. DPS Bangalore North triumphed in the Junior Category, whereas DPS RK Puram secured victory in the Senior Category after winning the tie breaker round.
The event concluded with a ‘Vote of Thanks,’ expressing gratitude to all involved. The visionary leadership of Chairman Sri B. K. Chaturvedi was acknowledged, along with Ms. Dolly Chanana for her invaluable contribution in shaping this event into a remarkable experience. Quizcraft Global Knowledge Solutions received special recognition for their active participation. Participating schools and their principals were thanked for their enthusiastic engagement.
The Inter-DPS Virtual Quiz 2024, Zone 6, left a lasting impression as a platform for intellectual growth, camaraderie and appreciation for knowledge and culture. The credit for the event's resounding success goes to the collaborative efforts of the participating schools.

QUEST TO CONQUER

The first edition of Quest to Conquer: An inter-school quiz was organised in collaboration with Fateh Education. The quiz was hosted by Mr. Arindam Bhattacharya, the renowned quiz master of India. 23 - 24 INSPIRE AWARDS 2023 – 24

'Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research' (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE Awards - MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), being executed by DST with National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF), an autonomous body of DST, aims to motivate students from classes VI to X. The objective of the scheme is to target one million original ideas/innovations rooted in science and societal applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children. Under this scheme, schools can nominate 5 best original ideas/innovations of students through this website.
We are proud to share that two of our stalwarts of Class X have successfully carried the baton of success further and won accolades to their name by being shortlisted under the INSPIRE award scheme for the year 2023 – 24 from the Delhi region, where a total of 119 awards have been sanctioned for selected students. An amount of I.N.R. 10,000/- has been assigned to them to work on the prototype of their project for the next level of the competition. The school commends their efforts in achieving this milestone to have the award sanctioned to their name from over thousands of applications received across the country.

BALLOT BOX: NUKKAD NATAK

Students of Class IX from DPS, Rohini participated in the event Ballot Box: Nukkad Natak on 14 May 2024 at Mount Abu Public School. The event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of exercising the “Right to vote” in a democratic society. Our students presented a compelling Nukkad Natak. The play emphasized that every vote counts, highlighted the right to vote as a fundamental democratic right and warned against the consequences of voter apathy, such as corruption and poor governance. Our students used engaging dialogues, energetic performances and interactive elements to captivate the audience and encourage active participation in the electoral process. It was a great learning experience for all the students.

PRODIGY AT SHAHEED SUKHDEV COLLEGE OF BUSINESS STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF DELHI

Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, University of Delhi conducted the 17th edition of India’s Largest Business and Management Conclave, Prodigy XVII, on 18 & 19 April 2024. The event aimed to embrace and promote entrepreneurship and its perpetual spirit among the young minds of the present generation. VOICE OF SAI UNDERSTANDING INDIAN CULTURE AND SPIRITUALITY FOR PROMOTING HUMAN VALUES

Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Delhi-NCR organised a series of events under the thematic program on 'Understanding Indian Culture & Spirituality for Promoting Human Values’, Vocal Music Competition - Voice of SAI
Several schools from Delhi NCR region participated in this event and DPS Rohini was among the top 20 contenders. In the final round, Shriya Verma of class X-D emerged as one of the top 5 finalists and received the Award of Excellence.
Nishchal Anand Jain of class VIII-C was selected in the top 20 finalists and performed as a wild card entry. Our school was honoured with an Award of Appreciation as well as presented a Trophy to inspire and encourage children to aspire higher in future.

On the occasion of International Day of Monuments and Sites 2024, an interschool event was organized by ITIHAAS - Indian Traditions and Heritage Society. GURUGRAM, HISTORY FESTIVAL- EDUCATION THROUGH MONUMENTS

Students of DPS Rohini participated in the Gurugram History Festival under the theme ‘Education through Monuments’ at DPS Gurgaon, Sector - 45. Students selected Qutub Minar for the interdisciplinary project and presented a flipbook titled ‘Daastan-e-Qutub’ table experiments, demonstrating architectural marvels and a dance performance named ‘Itihaas ke Galiyaron Se 379 Kadam’.
The involvement of students in the Gurugram History Festival exemplifies the power of interdisciplinary education in fostering holistic learning experiences. Through their innovative presentation on Qutub Minar, the students showcased their talent and deepened their understanding of history and heritage. This endeavour highlighted the importance of exploring and appreciating our rich cultural heritage.

SkillSphere Education and Creya Learning organized The FACT FIESTA 2024 - a national level quiz contest for students of Classes VI-VIII (Juniors) and Classes IX to XII (Seniors) at IIT Delhi's TRYST 2024.
Intra school prelims were held on 12 March for students of VI to IX and XI. The zonals were on 17 March and finals on 30 March 2024.
