21 DECEMBER 2022	Pathways to Learning webinar	Sukriti Vasisht Counselor, Ms. Kusum Basi	SCBSE in collaboration with UNICEF Resource persons-UNICEF Project head and Principals of schools who participated	P2E is an initiative by UNICEF that empowers students with relevant 21st Century skills to thrive in school, work and life and provide them with future pathways to entrepreneurship, employment & social impact opportunities. A pilot study was conducted by UNICEF on a few CBSE schools for this project. The webinar that was attended by DPS Rohini staff members was all about knowing the experiences of the schools who participated in the Pilot study. The participating schools’ Principals shared the experiences in relation to the pathways 2 learning project. They informed how the students were benefiting from the skills learnt through the project. They found the project to be really impactful and beneficial for the students.
18 DECEMBER 2022	Emerging Trends in Computer Science Education for K12 Post-NEP- 2020	Ms. Esha Dhir Wadhwa	SuperTeacher Resource persons- Mr. Vasudevan Natarajan	The session focused on the importance of Computer Science education in India. Government initiatives in terms of Coding were highlighted. AI based applications and games were shown. The session was interesting as there were many practical examples related to the topic.
10 DECEMBER 2022	CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME ON LEARNING OUTCOMES AND PEDAGOGIES	Ms. RIDHI SHARMA	CBSE Resource persons- Ms. Priyanka Bhatkoti	Maxfort School, Dwarka hosted Capacity Building Programme on Learning Outcomes and Pedagogies organized by the CBSE. The resource person focused on paradigm shift from teacher centered approach to student centered approach, the major component of NEP 2020. Outcomes need to be measurable and observable. Building multiple intelligence in students through various activities for better comprehension and retention. Bloom’s Taxonomy was discussed in detail. Efficient lesson planning strategies were discussed to make the classroom teaching more interactive and to bridge the learning gaps.

The workshop included hands-on activity based sessions and demonstrations of Teaching Learning Materials. The sessions on following topics were included: Designing your own telescope. Biology hands- on:Human Body Systems Model Rocketry for learning Science Concepts Electrochemistry Environment Concepts through games Basics of Electronics Electricity and Magnetism Experiments on Optics and Force and Pressure.
09 DECEMBER 2022	‘Modern Workplace Program for Eduators’	Ms. Vaishali	Organized by- CBSE in partnership with Microsoft Mr. Vibhuti Sinha Trainer Mr. Suraj	The workshop focused on how productivity suite enhances workplace skills of school leaders and educators. It also trained teachers on tools and techniques of AI to enable students to link these concepts to the real world.
6 DECEMBER 2022	Mendel’s Laws of Inheritance	Aparna Chatterji	Dr Madhu Bajaj	An Online webinar was organized by HRDC, DPSS on the topic – ‘Mendel’s Laws of Inheritance’ for grades X and XII. The webinar focused on genetics and included topics like polygenic inheritance and XO mechanism of sex determination.
1 DECEMBER 2022	Concept of Antibiotic Resistance Markers, Insertional Inactivation, PCR, RNA interference	Shelly Wadhwa	HRDC, DPSSResource persons- Dr. Gopinath; IIT Roorkee	The workshop aimed to update post graduate teachers teaching Biology about biotechnological procedures as mentioned. Basic description of the afore mentioned techniques was followed by a question- answer session.

Mishra, Principal, Prudence School	A two-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme on "Classroom Management ,"conducted by Ms. Pallavi Sharma, Principal, Mamta Modern School and Dr. C.B. Mishra , Principal, Prudence School provided teachers with words of wisdom on effective classroom management. Main topics of the workshop were content management, conduct management, and covenant management. To illustrate these concepts while involving the listeners, various activities were conducted. The teachers had the opportunity to showcase their visions for "Dream Classrooms" that would feature cutting-edge technology. It was an interactive workshop where the teachers participated enthusiastically.

A teacher training session on ‘Modern Workplace Program for Educators’ was conducted by the CBSE in collaboration with Microsoft. Various tools and usage of different apps of Microsoft 365 like- one drive, one note, Teams, Microsoft Sway, Microsoft Forms, Paint 3D, AI were discussed in the session along with the demonstration of the same. A brief idea about professional development for teachers with Microsoft learn was also shared.

Of Chemistry, ICT,Mumbai	A Zoom Webinar for Chemistry teachers was conducted by HRDC, DPSS on the topic ‘Thermodynamics’. The session focused on teaching the concept of thermodynamics to senior secondary classes. The session was presented in a comprehensible way and was supported with many practical examples pertaining to the topic.
16 November 2022	U-DISE	Jyoti Handa B L Yadav	DoE & Mr. Sunil	Attended the meeting reg. filling up the data on UDISE Portal on 16 November 2022 at SKV, Prashant Vihar, Delhi. The data comprises of three parts: School’s information Staff’s information Student’s information Mr. Sunil emphasized on the accuracy of data while filling it up, as it is required by the Ministry of Education MoE, Govt. of India for policy making. Further, it was informed that a lot of changes are there in the latest UDISE form and utmost care is required while filling up the data, especially the students’ data.

It emphasized on how work and play go hand in hand. The children should be provided with opportunities that steer them towards self-discovery and creativity. Children must also be given purposeful ‘tasks’ to explore and overcome challenges in their day- to-day life. Teachers/facilitators should plan such activities that encourage problem solving amongst children. Thus helping in the overall development of the child.

The resource person explained the use of digital white Board, how to interact with students via video and audio, create and submit assignments.
11 November 2022	HRDC WORKSHOP ON EQUILIBRIUM	Nitasha Jose	Dr. B.Vaijayanthi, Asst Prof. Of Chemistry, Gargi College	The highlights of the webinar were: An online session was organized by HRDC, DPS Society on the topic - Equilibrium in Chemical and Ionic processes taught in class XI. It was an interactive session covering both theoretical and numerical aspects of Equilibrium.The audience was required to solve numerical problems on Dissociation of weak acids and bases , Common Ion Effect and Solubility Product of sparingly soluble salts. The audience got new insights on how to take up these topics in the classroom. Overall it was an enriching and fruitful experience.
07 To 09 November 2022	Session on AI Tools	Jayashri Bhattacharya, Aparna Bajaj & Anshu Agarwal	CBSE Microsoft Online Webinar	A Session on AI Tools was organized by the CBSE in collaboration with Microsoft on 7, 8 and 9 November 2022. Day-1 The resource person, Ms Shruti acquainted the teachers with various Tools/ techniques of AI used in day to day working like spell check, dictate feature, translate feature, analyze data and conversion of tables to editable spreadsheets. Day-2 The resource person, Ms Shruti explained Deep Learning and how AI actually works. It was more relatable to Computer Science. She spoke about Computer Vision, NLP Natural Language Processing and Cognitive services Day-3 The session was basically meant for Computer Science teachers. The focus was on responsible AI.
05 November 2022	We Educators: Creating future collectively	All teachers of DPS	Ms. Sukriti Vasisht School Counsellor	The workshop conducted by the counselor for all faculty members on 5 November 2022 aimed at understanding the importance of child safety and safeguarding and the role that educators play in the same. The session began with a small Mindfulness Video prepared by the counselor, that expressed gratitude to the teachers for all the efforts that they put in to make learning an interesting process. The video also aimed at setting the tone for the session that followed. The session intended to help the teachers increase their self-awareness in relation to their innate responding styles and how to go about giving feedback in a more constructive manner/ a way in which the students will be more receptive. The psychological reasons behind responding styles and feedbacks were based on the research outcomes. The responding styles were further explored with the help of a teacher’s self-assessment form, followed by a discussion on the same. Different ways of giving feedback were practised using situations that the teachers come across daily. Brainstorming as a technique was used for collective understanding and reflecting. The session ended with a small video that aimed at sending the message across of not judging anyone based on past instances or events. Thus, encouraging all to view students in a different light each day, and having Unconditional Positive Regard for all students forgiving and forgetting what might have happened earlier. The teachers participated enthusiastically in the session and made it interactive.

It provides an insight into the need for pastoral care. It offered practical tips on how to go forward with innovation in our own institutions.
3 November 2022	CBSE CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM – ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES ELEMENTARY CLASSES	Namrata Das	Mr. Pankaj Munjal Associated with CBSE - COE	The highlights of the webinar were: The workshop focussed on understanding the different orders of nature Material Order, Pranic Order, Animal Order and their coexistence with each other. The resource person also highlighted the indefinite conduct of human beings in life and had an in-depth conversation focussing on the root cause of humans reductionist approach and the effect of their deep-rooted myths/ sensational slavery. Then videos showcasing the impact of human beings on different orders along with some motivational case studies were shown. The resource person talked about the importance of need-based life rather than desire-based life. The intent was to set imagination right through verification and joint exploration. Lastly, the resource person and the teachers had a brainstorming session and discussed the different activities that could be implemented in the schools.

His work prominently depicted the realities of poor and urban middle-class families. He helped in promoting the Hindi language through his literature. Drawing inspiration from his persistent contribution to the field motivates us to work relentlessly in providing Hindi language with the recognition it deserves.

21 & 22 September 2022	Capacity Building Program on ‘Inclusive Education’	Promila Chopra	Archana Narain- Principal, The Indian Heights School and Mr.C.B.Mishra,Principal, Prudence School	The highlights of the webinar were: Capacity Building Programme on ‘Inclusive Education’ was organized by the CBSE on 21 and 22 September 2022 in Cambridge Foundation School, Rajouri Garden. The first session focused mainly on identifying differently abled children and the challenges faced by the teachers and parents in recognizing such children. Ms. Narain also stressed on the need to reach out to every child without discrimination. The teachers were informed about the new approaches that can be practised in the classroom setting. Creating a flexible curriculum, emphasizing on individualized teaching, promoting learning in natural environment and focusing on child-oriented learning were the key aspects of the workshop. The two-day workshop was a blend of group activities, case studies, watching short movies, group discussion, brainstorming activities and understanding of concepts like Inclusion, Exclusion, Inclusive Education, Special Education and the creation of a barrier-free environment for finding varied potential in diverse learners.
20 September 2022	PRASHAST – A Disability Screening Checklist For Schools	Middle school teachers , coordinators and senior school teachers, coordinators	Prof. Robert Hanson	A session on the screening tool of NCERT named PRASHAST was conducted to guide teachers for early identification and screening based on their observation of student’s behavioral aspect: PRASHAST has 2 parts :- PART 1 – This is for the use of regular teachers for preliminary screening at the first level PART 2 is for the use of special educator/ Counselor for validating the observation of PART-1 tool. This is a screening tool and not to be used as a diagnostic tool to arrive at unnecessary labels to describe a child as having a disability. Teachers and special educators need to submit the report to CBSE by 30 September.

The webinar focused on different types of mushrooms, their distinctive features and medicinal values.
17 September 2022	Igniting Young Minds	Ms. Namrata Das and Ms. Sakshi Kadyan	Ms. Pragya Nopani from Birla Vidya Niketan, Pushp Vihar, New Delhi	The highlights of the webinar were: “ Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember; involve me and I will understand. ” Confucius. The workshop was based on this very quote. It focussed on igniting the minds of the students through experiential learning technique rather than merely explaining the concepts. The resource person demonstrated a series of activities and provided a platform for open ended discussion. The motive behind the activities was to allow us to think, draw inferences, make mistakes and then learn. The workshop focussed on the importance of engagement-based learning rather than rote-learning. The workshop also drew our attention towards the rigidity of the education system and its impact on the students.
14 & 16 September 2022	PRASHAST – A Disability Screening Checklist For Schools	Mamta Nangia and Reena Panwar	Dr. Bharti Kaushik Associate Professor, CIET, NCERT	The highlights of the webinar were: PRASHAST is “Pre Assessment Holistic Screening Tool” NCERT has developed this checklist/ tool to screen out children with special needs. With the help of PRASHAST teachers have a safeguard against reaching inaccurate and unscientific conclusions. Usage of PRASHAST is designed to facilitate clarity about the child’s condition. The process of following Part-1 and Part2 of PRASHAST is a preliminary step that facilitates referral for further diagnosis.
14 September 2022	Measuring a Child’s Progress	Ms.Divya Rana	HRDC- DPS SOCIETY – Online training Session - The resource persons were Ms. Rukmini Ramchandran and Ms. Ruby Lau Indian Montessori Foundation	An online webinar session in Montessori Pedagogy on the topic ‘Measuring a Child’s Progress’ was organised by DPS-HRDC for the Teachers of the Delhi Public Schools teaching the Foundational Stage Nursery- Class II on September 14, 2022. The resource person Ms. Rukmini Ramachandran gave an overview of a child’s progress and of what is meant by progress. Ms. Ruby elaborated on the four distinct periods that a child goes through and touched upon the special characteristics displayed in each stage. Ms. Rukmini further emphasised that assessment should not be done just for academic subjects like Mathematics and Language. Rather, a holistic view should be taken of academics, sports and other co-curricular and extracurricular activities and of the different life-skills. In the Montessori Method, activities are offered to help the child become independent, capable and self-confident.They elaborated the following points: The teachers should observe the child carefully in the class. The children should be allowed to take responsibility for their own work. A teacher should refrain from forbidding students from doing things on their own. Teachers should share with parents about what is suitable and appropriate at that particular stage. create their own templates for observation after discussions with their colleagues. The resource persons also elaborated about the teacher’s own growth and practice of educational principles.

The workshop covered major areas of school library and the role of librarian: School Library in 21st century. Library- to provide integrated and information technology aided environment to support teaching and learning. Role of library periods & activities in enhancing reading skills. Why reading is important. The workshop was very enriching and informative.
12 September 2022	Work and play in a child’s life	Megha Manchanda	HRDC- DPS SOCIETY – Online training Session - The resource persons were Ms. Rukmini Ramchandran and Ms. Ruby Lau Indian Montessori Foundation	The highlights of the webinar were: The workshop was initiated with an overview of how the first 6 years are the foundation of a child. Basic human characteristics like speaking, comparison, predictions are developed in these first 6 years. Ms. Rukmini Ramachandran further emphasized how work and play go hand in hand. They are not different from one another. Activities that we offer to the child are seen as both play and work. Children must be provided with opportunities that enable them to self-discovery and creation. Self-creation makes the child happy. If no space is provided for the child to discover himself, the child’s emotional well-being of the child gets affected. Parents and teachers must give the child purposeful activities to explore and learn in day-to-day life. It was further explained that purposeful activities .

The workshop was enriching but some of the procedures explained were of a higher level. The emphasis was on derivation of the formulae. Emphasis was on the fact that the procedure should be picked up according to the series. For middle school he mentioned triangle and square numbers, he also mentioned Pascal's triangle.

The resource person commenced the session by highlighting the objectives of the different national education policies and special emphasis was laid on NCF 2005. A discussion on child centered approach and suggestive format indicating key themes and sub themes along with possible connections was carried out. The common challenges and issues faced by the students as well as the teachers after a span of almost 2 years of pandemic were highlighted and different opinions regarding the same were shared by the teachers. Importance of environment in development of the child, linking environment to the child, valuing environment for learning, characteristics of EVS, and pedagogical organization for teaching-learning of EVS were discussed. The resource person laid emphasis on curriculum planning which should include content that reflects the day-to-day experiences of children and their world. All concepts taught should be activity-based that should also complement the textual material and related to examples from local surroundings. The curriculum of EVS helps a child to interiorize the values of cleanliness, honesty, cooperation, concern for life and environment.

The ‘Complete the Cake’ strategy cited by the resource person highlighted the active participation of each child, wherein the children would experience for themselves how different fractions add up to a whole. It was restated that students should be encouraged to explore different ways of approaching and comprehending the concepts.

The resource explained that effort is required to translate the exact meaning from the spoken to the written word. She further added that it is a myth that writing is something that only writers are meant to do and also that one should possess an excellent vocabulary to become a writer.

Ms. Pai has published over 20 books and now come up with India’s first fantasy adventure series ‘Taranauts’. The resource persons reiterated the importance of reading and explained its implication as a fundamental life skill, which unlocks learning, supports emotional wellbeing, language development and communication skills. • It was also discussed that reading for pleasure can be fun, and it can also help improve educational outcomes across all subjects. • The resource person stressed on the most prominent national initiative of the Ministry of Education, i.e. to enable children to become motivated, independent and engaged readers and writers with comprehension, possessing sustainable reading and writing skills.

The apps were related to Time & Task Management; Students’ Engagement & Formative Assessment; Behavioural Management; Student & Parent Communication. •Various case-studies were shared where the out-of –the-box approach by some teachers from across India had helped making their online teaching effective and had provided a wider platform to reach across to the students. •The teachers were also apprised with the latest advancements and the next generation digital apps.
26 April 2022	Charul Mahendru	CBSE COE Delhi	CBSE COE Patparganj	Offline Prospective Resource Person Programme was conducted by CBSE COE on 26 April 2022. The workshop aimed at training English teachers to serve as prospective resource persons. The resource person, Mrs. Swapna Nair, Principal Arwachin International School, talked about the impact of implementation of new education policy in English classes and discussed the skills needed by teachers to train first generation learners belonging to economically weaker section and children with special needs. Differentiated teaching and differentiated learning was also discussed in the workshop.

The participants were given adequate knowledge as to how to make career in PE without being an active sports person. It was reiterated by the resource person that physical educators should spread awareness among Class XII Physical Education students about the career options and maximize involvement of the children in Physical education field.
